Moving to Canada - Immigration

Here we are in the second quarter of 2022!

The pandemic-era policies that continue to influence immigration policy and unpredictable global circumstances that compel timely response have made this year unpredictable for Canadian immigration.

Let's see where Canadian immigration is at so far in 2022 and what you may anticipate for the rest of the year. Let's look at a few of the most important stories in Canadian immigration right now to start our analysis.

A new Canadian immigration program

Last month, Canada's Minister for Immigration  announced that it was working on a new immigration program for temporary workers and international students  already in Canada. This program makes it easier for applicants to apply for permanent residence.

Details of the program will not be announced until September, but the new road could be a game changer for people  already  in Canada as temporary residents. Learn more about the new program.

International Experience Canada (IEC)

The IEC, which includes a popular Working Holiday Program, seems to have returned to  pre-pandemic levels. Over 90,000 invitations have been sent this season so far, but there are still many. The IEC season usually ends in October or November.

Province Nominee Program (PNP):

PNP is on the rise. In 2022, Canada will welcome more than 80,000 new permanent residents via PNP (more than Express Entry!). Lottery is always held throughout Canada.

Family Sponsorship

Family sponsorship continues to be a pillar of Canadian immigration. The processing time for funding applications is now a bit late, but the government is slowly catching up. Also, recent changes have made it easier for parents and grandparents to visit Canada.

Studying in Canada

Many Canadian schools start their semester in August or September. This means that it is a busy time for study permit applicants. Also, Please submit your research permit application early to avoid delaying the start of your research.
